NHS Case Study
VC Consulting delivered a series of workshops on behalf of the Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire County Primary Care Trusts. These formed part of the NHS's Workforce Planning and Training Programme, a system designed to ensure that all staff are sufficiently trained and that the organisation has in-house leadership skills. The main aim for the NHS was to allow them to operate their own financial training once the course with VC Consulting was complete. Our role was therefore to train facilitators to a level where they could impart their skills onto others.
VC Consulting delivered a series of courses to groups of up to ten delegates. The theme of the seminars were around Budget Management, which encompassed key topics, such as 'Identifying cost centres', Choosing key performance indicators' and 'Managing variances and cost control'. An interactive delivery method meant that there were group exercises and case scenarios encompassed within the wider presentation. This improved engagement substantially and led to excellent overall feedback from course delegates.
We now have an ongoing relationship with the NHS, with additional courses planned, covering areas such as Financial Forecasting and Bid Writing.

The aim is to cover all the areas necessary to build delegate's understanding quickly, and allow them to develop this further once the course is completed.
Finance: Our finance courses focus upon offering training for people with both an extensive and more limited understanding of business finance.. read more
This includes elementary topics, such as 'Raising Business Finance' and 'Book-keeping'. The aim is to provide a basic to intermediate understanding of the key financial elements of operating a business. More advanced topics cover issues such as 'Finance For Non-Financial Managers' and 'Financial Statement Analysis'. These should both complement and build an already developed understanding of business finance.
